After having finished his studies in Business Administration at Goethe University, Frankfurt a.M., Germany in 1993, Oliver started his professional career in Marketing-Communication at ispo GmbH, Kriftel/D, a leading producer of architectural paint, flooring solutions and wall insulation systems.
In 1996 Oliver moved to RELIUS Coatings, located in Memmingen/D and Oldenburg/D, where he succeeded in product management and marketing leadership roles for decorative paints and industrial coatings in Europe. In this role he contributed to the first digital transition, switching color mixing formulas from physical micro fiche libraries to computer based fully digital applications and introducing fully automated dosing stations to the paint dealerships.
His first sales and general management position Oliver took over in 2003, when becoming the Managing Director for the Dutch subsidiary RELIUS Nederland B.V., located in Deurne/NL, and acting as Director of Sales for the Benelux. After integration of the RELIUS business into BASF Coatings, Münster/D, in 2009 he got offered a new challenge as the European Head of Business Development for Commercial Transport Coatings Solutions working closely with large manufactures of Agriculture and Construction Equipment, Trailers, Trucks & Busses and commercial vehicle builders. Additionally in 2013 Oliver also got the responsibility to build a global Key Account Management organisation for the Automotive Refinish Coatings.
In these customer-facing roles Oliver learned about the power of customer-centricity and collaboration with all relevant stakeholders. He developed a holistic view on the automotive aftermarket, connecting with influential stakeholders along the value chain and building partnerships with them based on shared purpose.
Since 2020 Oliver is leading the Platform Business within BASF Automotive Refinish Coatings Solution, which includes digital platforms such as UBench BV in Turnhout/B, acquired by BASF in 2019 and RepairFix GmbH in Munich/D, a corporate start-up launched in 2020. These platforms serve fleet, leasing and insurance companies to stay connected with their vehicle drivers along the driver journey. And they coordinate all relevant processes with other service providers like maintenance & repair shops, towing services or rental car companies in a digital collaborative ecosystem.
Based on these activities Oliver is keen to enlarge his network and expertise on platform-based ecosystem development and digital trends in AI, telematics and data-to-value.
